Where you come from matters. After a childhood of dreaming in her Grandmother’s outhouse, author Eva Steortz opened the Castle door to a dream-come-true career at Disney. But life at the happiest place on earth wasn’t all pixie dust. While at its heart, Disney creates magic for families all over the world, corporate politics can get ugly and personal. After surviving many pixie dust storms, she was laid off in what was to be the most disruptive and worst upheaval of her life. Choosing positivity over resentment, she left the Castle to go build her own.
“So here it is, the kind of real world plus inspiring and motivating book I wish I had read before diving head first into my career,” says the sassy, potty-mouthed executive.
She is the Chief Inspiration Officer of her own company, Vita Creativa, where she gives people the tools to create the career and life of their dreams. She is also currently SVP, Brand Development for Twentieth Century Fox. She holds a Masters in Communications and a Bachelors in Advertising from WVU. As a proud mountain mama, she knows how to work hard, keep it simple and live life fully.
This book celebrates the amazing leaders who motivated and inspired her to take risks, dream big, and aim high. With best practice tips, short leadership lessons, inspiring quotes, and simple exercises, she shows you the way to enjoy a more fun, fulfilling, and successful career.
