Global Call for Nominations Issued by World of Children Award and Echoed by Leading Philanthropists
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- World of Children Award is now accepting Nominations for their prestigious annual Awards program, which honors and elevates heroes serving children around the world.
Every year, the organization identifies and honors individuals who have created proven, sustainable programs for children and grants them funding to advance their work. The much-coveted Awards have been referred to by the media as the “Nobel Prize for Child Advocacy.”
Caryl Stern, president and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, recently commended World of Children Award for honoring the world’s “unsung heroes.”
“Today, as we celebrate, as we enjoy our lives, 18,000 children died today, all under the age of 5, all from causes we already know how to prevent,” Stern said. “Every child deserves a childhood. And children should be defined by their age, not by the borders they happen to be born between.”
Stern joins World of Children Award’s Board of Governors in asking the public to assist in the 2014 search for Honorees who are best serving the needs of children worldwide.
This year, World of Children Award will honor the work of four more heroes with the 2014 Humanitarian Award, 2014 Health Award, and two 2014 Youth Awards. Recipients of the 2014 Awards will be flown to New York City, honored at an annual Awards Ceremony, and given grant funding with a minimum of $25,000 for the Youth Awards and a minimum of $50,000 for the Health and Humanitarian Awards. Nominations can be submitted online at worldofchildren.org/nominate until April 1, 2014.
