Josh Weidmann will begin his tenure as Senior Pastor at Grace Chapel on May 31, 2015, leaving his former role as Care and Counseling Pastor and one of the Teaching Pastors at Mission Hills Church, which is located only eight miles away from Grace Chapel.
Grace Chapel’s most recent Senior Pastor, John Zivojinovic, served in the executive leadership capacity for eight years, and fifteen years total at Grace Chapel before announcing “God was calling us [his family] out of full-time pastoral ministry” on October 26, 2014. John Zivojinovic’s last day was a celebration held on March 29, 2015.
A large percentage of Grace Chapel membership participated in the interview process in the hiring of Josh Weidmann and gave feedback to recommend the Board of Elders hire him. The Elders voted unanimously to extend an invitation to Josh on April 21, 2015, and Josh accepted the call. Upon announcing the news to the congregation later in the week, and after Josh shared his excitement in front of the congregation Sunday, April 26, the delight by the congregation was palpable. Holly Mais stated, “I am just thrilled to have Josh come to Grace Chapel and be the new leader!”
On Sunday, April 26, in his announcement to the Grace Chapel congregation, Josh stated, “My wife, Molly, and I are so excited for this next season and to see all that God has planned for Grace Chapel in the South Denver area. We are honored to be a part of this community, and I look forward to my new role and leading this church to continue making a difference.”
