Feeding families is an integral piece of the disaster recovery puzzle, and we want to bring community members, especially those who may be displaced from their homes, back to the table.
MATTHEWS, N.C. (PRWEB) September 17, 2018
In support of Hurricane Florence relief efforts, Harris Teeter announced a pledge of up to $125,000 to American Red Cross (ARC) which supports affected communities by providing relief supplies, emergency response units, personnel and support for long-term reconstruction.
Harris Teeter will match shopper donations, up to $125,000, made inside Harris Teeter stores now through Sept. 30. Donations are being accepted at all Harris Teeter locations throughout seven states and the District of Columbia.
One hundred percent of donations made through the in-store campaign will benefit ARC, and the company has requested that ARC direct the Harris Teeter match-gift toward food-relief efforts.
“We are rallying our community and vendor partners as well as our valued customers and associates to support those affected by Hurricane Florence,” said Danna Robinson, communication manager for Harris Teeter. “Feeding families is an integral piece of the disaster recovery puzzle, and we want to bring community members, especially those who may be displaced from their homes, back to the table.”
“The Red Cross is proud to count Harris Teeter as a partner to provide people with much needed support as we help communities impacted by disasters big and small, and countless other crises,” said Don Herring, chief development officer at the American Red Cross.
In addition to the in-store campaign and company matching gift, Harris Teeter has and will continue to deploy truckloads of free ice and water and other essential products into the communities most impacted by this storm.
