Hawaii resident and NFEC Certified Financial Education Instructor, Saydee Pojas is offering a free financial literacy workshop series in the Waianae community. The workshop series is geared towards recent high school graduates, students who are entering their senior year of high school, as well as their parents. Those in attendance will participate in fun, engaging and interactive workshops that will prepare participants for financial success.

This free event is taking place June 12, 19 and 26 at Waianae District Park Multi-Purpose Room. The event is open to the public. To reserve a seat for the event call 808-542-6245 or visit

This event will provide a foundation in various money management skills including budgeting, saving, and investing along with credit and account management. Activities will include hands-on and interactive lessons that will allow participants to apply the skills they learn from the workshops.

Whether going off to college in the mainland, attending a local higher education institution, or entering into the workforce the topics covered at these workshops will prepare participants to meet the financial challenges that await them. “I entered college unaware of the need for proper money management skills and spent years post graduation cleaning up the financial mess I created. If I can help one person avoid those financial challenges, and then I know I’ve made a difference in my community” said Saydee Pojas, who is also a member of the Personal Finance Speakers Association.

All financial literacy speakers must graduate the NFEC’s Certified Financial Education Instructor professional development course prior to conducting their first event. Their experience combined with a comprehensive Certification course and testing ensures the instructors are capable of delivering practical lessons while entertaining the audience.

The National Financial Educators Council revolutionizes the financial literacy industry by delivering comprehensive campaigns to the global community. The NFEC is widely recognized for creating high-profile financial literacy initiatives that span all areas of personal finance. These campaigns are designed to improve community outcomes and raise awareness for the financial literacy movement. The NFEC mission is to create a world where people are informed to make qualified financial decisions that improve their lives, the lives of their loved ones, and the lives of people they influence around the globe.
