Our flexible, online hybrid format combined with clinical experiences at a facility convenient for the student make Houston Baptist University’s MSN-PNP-PC a very attainable goal for professionals who want to enhance their career with a specialized nursing degree
HOUSTON (PRWEB) March 11, 2019
Houston Baptist University's School of Nursing and Allied Health is excited to welcome a cohort of 9 registered nurses to their hybrid Master of Science in Nursing Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care program. Classes for this degree program started January 14, 2019.
"We are especially excited that HBU has generated so much interest in the PNP program. The MSN in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is a unique specialty, graduating only a small number of nurses each year nationwide," said Dean, School of Nursing and Allied health Renae R. Schumann, Ph.D., RN.
Professionals with a Texas nursing license can pursue the 36-credit program that includes 504 clinical contact hours and can be completed in as little as 24 months. Graduates are prepared to sit for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care certification examination and are ready for employment managing, diagnosing, and treating patients from birth to 21 years.
BSN graduates can elevate their career and increase earning potential by graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing degree like the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – PC. "Our flexible, online hybrid format combined with clinical experiences at a facility convenient for the student make Houston Baptist University’s MSN-PNP-PC a very attainable goal for professionals who want to enhance their career with a specialized nursing degree," added Schumann.
The hybrid MSN-PNP-PC is a convenient program that includes an orientation along with skills and diagnostic reasoning sessions hosted on campus, allowing students to get to know HBU’s faculty and interact with peers in the program. The competency-based format ensures students receive a high-quality course and practicum education.
