Henry Hagg Lake, located just south of Forest Grove, Oregon, experienced massive crowds during its recent season opener event. The staff at UsedBoatTrailers.com warns boaters that overcrowding could be the norm during the start of the spring season.
According to the StatesmenJournal.com, Hagg Lake was stocked with almost 20,000 rainbow trout for the season opener by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, which took place early last week. The officials and crew for the Lake were surprised as facilities became overrun on the opening day.
The staff at Used Boat Trailers understand how frustrating it can be, having to work around large crowds. However, they warn, this will likely be the norm for season openers and the like. For boaters looking for a relaxing day on the water, opening day at popular fishing spots might not be the place to find it.
UBT recommends boaters resign themselves to the crowds, or carry the family boat to a less crowded spot. They suggest larger rivers as an alternative to a lake, as the different ramps available for boat drop off will be much more spread out along a river. For those boaters not located near a sizable river, or those hoping for waterskiing or jet skiing, they have little advice. According to UBT, it might be better for skiers to wait the opening weekend out.
After a long winter, spring is nearly here. People are anxious to get outside and experience warmer weather and outdoor recreation. The staff at Used Boat Trailers recommends that springtime revelers delay their boating, go expecting large crowds, or find a less popular body of water for their recreational use. Whatever they decide, UBT hopes they enjoy themselves as the weather ramps up into higher temperatures.
