Hood Agency Announces Joint Fundraising Effort with Fairbanks Counseling & Adoption to Provide Food for Local Homeless and Runaway Children
North Pole, AK (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- The Hood Agency, a locally owned full service insurance firm, is banding together with the Fairbanks Counseling & Adoption Center in an effort to ensure that local 10-18 year old homeless and runaway children are provided with adequate food.
The FCA maintains a Street Outreach & Advocacy Program that offers homeless and runaway children an opportunity to pick up food bags that can be carried out of the center, giving them ample food to keep them fed for the day. However, the SOAP program relies heavily on community involvement for both food products that are given to local children and monetary donations to keep the facilities funded.
“Pitching in to help out the FCA with SOAP has shown me that there are far more people in need in our community than I thought there were,” says Katherine Hood, owner of the Hood Agency. “If we could get just a few more families involved, or gather just a few more donations, it would make a huge difference to the underprivileged children in our community.”
Hood and her team have taken up the challenge and are actively spreading the word about the FCA and the Street Outreach & Advocacy Program. Mobilizing a professional network of clients and contacts, as well as a sizeable number of friends, family, and neighbors, the Hood Agency team is reaching out all across Alaska. Even more, thanks to an online presence tied into social media channels, Hood is finding support all across the continental US.
Not that the Hood Agency is any stranger to community involvement. At last count, Hood and her team were involved with at least five local causes, and plan to add even more charity involvement in the months to come, at the rate of one new initiative every 30-60 days.
