Hoyt Hopes to Hamper Utah Bankruptcy Petitions and Foreclosures after Becoming Partner at the McCann Law Group LLP, dba Consumer Attorney Services in July
Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Consumer Attorney Services designated attorney Douglas P. Hoyt as partner in July to help more Utahns with bankruptcy filings and foreclosure defense. Hoyt made an excellent selection for partnership with Consumer Attorney Services with his 20 years’ legal experience and a 17-year legal practice focusing on chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcies.
Hoyt pursued a practice of his own, Douglas P. Hoyt, P.C., just three short years after laws school and has been in business for himself for over 17 years. Prior to this, he worked as an in-house counsel for a law firm performing contract negotiation and litigation work.
Hoyt was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1993 and the Colorado State Bar in 1999. He attended law school at the University of Wyoming where he received a Juris Doctor in 1993. He also received a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Wyoming.
Consumer Attorney Services trusts Hoyt to help homeowners with Utah foreclosure defense in one of the nation’s top 20 states ranked by foreclosure filings.
According to a July Desert News article by Jasen Lee, “Utah ranked No. 16 in the quarterly report released by the Irvine-Calif.-based real estate research firm, with one in 194 housing units registering a foreclosure filing.”
Daren Blomquist, vice president of the Irvine-California research firm (Realty Trac) mentioned above, noted in a statement about the report, “[…]while foreclosures are no longer a problem nationally, they continue to be a thorn in the side of several state and local markets […]”
Consumer Attorney Services also hopes Hoyt’s efforts will help to reduce the number of bankruptcy filings across Utah.
According to a July article by Steven Oberbeck with The Salt Lake Tribune, residents in Utah filed 7,596 bankruptcy petitions during the first half of 2013.
Consumer Attorney Services is a full service consumer advocacy law firm headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, and offers legal services including but not limited to: foreclosure defense, debt settlement, and bankruptcy law.
