Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, exhibited at the Royal College of Ophthalmologist’s (RCO) Annual Congress 2014 on the 20th-22nd May at the ICC, Birmingham. The show was very successful for HS-UK, with two new and exciting products unveiled; the Ellex Ultra Q with Reflex technology and the LENSTAR LS 900 T-Cone toric platform.
The Ellex Ultra Q with Reflex technology is optimised for both anterior and posterior Nd:YAG laser treatments. Whether you are performing capsulotomy with new generation IOLs, peripheral iridotomy for glaucoma or Nd:YAG laser vitreolysis for the treatment of floaters, the Ultra Q delivers higher accuracy and greater control. The Ultra Q was very popular at the show, with numerous delegates requesting a demonstration.
The LENSTAR LS 900 was also available for demonstration on the HS-UK stand, and also generated much interest. The LENSTAR provides users with a complete biometric assessment of the patient’s eye in a single measurement procedure, including lens thickness, anterior chamber depth (lens position) and retinal thickness. The new T-Cone platform gives the cataract surgeon superior K-readings, astigmatism and axis measurements, as well as Placido topography maps for corneal curvature, elevation and the image of the Placido-Ring reflections in the eye.
Other products exhibited at the show included; the Haag-Streit Surgical Hi-R NEO 900 microscope with new C.RED adjustable red reflex enhancer, Octopus 900 perimeter and the BQ900 LED slit lamp with IM900 imaging module.
