iDiscovery Solutions’ Director Jennifer Brennan to Moderate Judges Plenary at ABA’s The Women of the Section of Litigation Conference

(iDS), an award-winning, global legal technology expert services firm, will moderate a special judges plenary at the ABA's inaugural The Women of the Section of Litigation Conference, which is being held on November 5 – 7, 2014 at The Palmer House in Chicago, IL. "Straight from the Bench: How Judges Approach E-Discovery Disputes and View the Proposed Changes to the FRCP” will take place in the iconic hotel’s Empire Room on November 6 from 10:45 am – 12:00 pm. The panel of deeply experienced judges will share their top “do’s and don’ts” when approaching the Court with e-Discovery disputes, as well as their insights into the proposed changes to the FRCP. The session is designed to educate attendees on what matters most when you involve the Court concerning disputes and how to adjust your current and future litigation strategies as the changes to the FRCP grow near.

Ms. Brennan develops and implements processes and standards across all of iDS’ service lines. An expert in managing projects throughout the entire EDRM lifecycle, she has more than 19 years of law firm and consulting experience overseeing all aspects of complex, multi-party settlement negotiations, arbitrations and litigation. Ms. Brennan provides subject matter expertise to corporate and law firm clients on topics related to the intersection of law and technology and works to align litigation goals with discovery obligations. A former partner at Gilbert LLP, she is a member of the ABA and Women in e-Discovery (WiE).
During her 14 years as a United States Magistrate Judge, Hon. Nan R. Nolan (Ret.) presided over complex, federal cases at every phase of civil litigation. Judge Nolan is a nationally recognized expert in electronic discovery and co-founded the Seventh Circuit’s E-Discovery Pilot Program. Her many lectures and workshops on e-Discovery reflect her philosophy that cooperation between parties is the principal avenue to mutually beneficial solutions.
Hon. Mary M. Rowland has been a United States Magistrate Judge, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, since November 2012. Judge Rowland was a founding member of the Seventh Circuit’s E-Discovery Pilot Program and co-chaired the Education Sub-Committee from May 2009 – May 2012.
Hon. Jeffrey T. Gilbert has been a United States Magistrate Judge, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, since May 2010. During his 28 years in private practice with Sachnoff Weaver and Reed Smith LLP, Judge Gilbert represented individual and corporate plaintiffs and defendants in class actions and individual suits. He has been an adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law for more than 20 years.
