The second episode of the Indie Revolution Update focuses on the inaugural Indie Author Weekend, held Oct. 8 – 10 at Borders bookstores in the Indianapolis and Seattle metro areas. Sponsored by Author Solutions, Inc.—the world leader in indie book publishing—Indie Author Weekend provided local authors a unique opportunity to connect with readers in their communities.

"This weekend provided a tremendous opportunity for these authors to connect with readers in their communities and build a following close to home. Holding these book signings at local Borders locations was a no-brainer, as more and more bookstores are becoming important community gathering places, and in some communities, centers of culture,” said Keith Ogorek, ASI senior vice president of marketing and published indie author.

Indie authors from ASI’s AuthorHouse, iUniverse and Trafford imprints in genres ranging from fiction to children’s to romance to suspense participated in the event. Ogorek, who signed copies of his children’s book, Eli the Stable Boy, in Indianapolis, said he hopes next year’s weekend will expand to more markets and involve even more authors.
