Inner Strength Pilates and Barre Adelaide Release New Video Workout on How to Stretch the Sides of Your Body
(PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- Inner Strength Pilates and Barre Adelaide have released a brand new Pilates workout, which you can find on their blog post How to Stretch the Side of your Body - Pilates Exercise. In the two minute and thirty two second video the company’s chief instructor and director Tamara Gollan insists no fancy gym equipment is necessary in order to carry out her latest toning and stretching exercise routine. Instead she advocates using a doorframe or a laundry pole.
In the video How to Stretch the Side of your Body - Pilates Exercise Mrs Gollan goes on to demonstrate how to carry out the extremely effective exercise by stretching the body into a ‘C’ shape using the aforementioned pole or door frame for balance and force.
As well as forming the arms into a ‘C’ shape with the outside arm going over the head and the inner arm clutching the pole or door frame below the waist, the outside leg should also cross over in front of the other leg.
Now the body should be pushed away from the doorframe or pole with all the weight leaning into the furthest away side of the body to the object. The pose itself should then be held for a count of up to 45 seconds. In order to provide balance the exercise should also be performed using the other side of the body so that it is leaning outwards on the opposite side as before.
Gollan recommends repeating both sides of the exercise twice. The exercises, she says, are simple to do but in order to be effective there are certain rules that must be adhered to.
“Make sure you’re leaning as much as you can into the side. Try to keep the shoulders relaxed and make sure your body is nice and square.” Said the ormer professional dancer.
“Careful you’re not twisting your hips or you’re not going to feel the tightness in the correct area of the body. Both hip bones should be facing forward and the shoulders facing forward."
Gollan adds that by making this exercise part of a daily routine (such as first thing in the morning and last thing at night) participants should reap results in a very short space of time.
