Instantiations, Inc., a leading provider of Eclipse-based commercial software solutions, has promoted Steve Messick, co-founder of the company and principal engineer, to a newly-created position of chief information officer.
In his new role, Messick will provide strategic direction for the growth of the commercial software company's technology infrastructure initiatives. The company specializes in Eclipse Java plug-in development and has strong technology and new market growth plans over the next several years.
"Steve understands the importance of developing our technological infrastructure to scale as we grow and has the background to do it effectively," said Dan Rubel, CTO and co-founder of Instantiations. "In addition to working with our own systems as a principal engineer, he is very aware of customer requirements and what systems will best fulfill their needs. I'm excited to work with Steve to expand our capacity."
"With Instantiations' rapid growth around the U.S and the world, we need an IT infrastructure which will support the new demands for communication and collaboration," states Steve Messick, Instantiations' new CIO. "We've recently started initiatives to do just that, and there's a lot of work to be done. I am looking forward to meeting the challenges of this new role."
Messick has been using cutting-edge software technology to solve problems for over 25 years. He has a long history of project management as well as product development and mentoring. His work with diverse clients has given him a strong appreciation for the needs of customers. In 1997, Messick co-founded Instantiations and has been an instrumental part of the technical staff as a core contributor to the CodePro product line and as a senior consultant on major enterprise development projects. Prior to Instantiations, Messick worked at Digitalk and ParcPlace-Digitalk, and was a senior engineer with Tektronix. Messick holds BSEE and BA degrees from Ohio Northern University, and a Masters degree in space physics from the Univ. of Alaska. He is also a published author and patent holder.
