James Schramko Reveals Rising Podcast Download Rates, Shares Authority-building Strategies for Websites

The SuperFastBusiness.com chief reports a healthy download rate for their business audio content (which is now double that of their frequent video posts). He also explains two effective ways to help site owners build authority for their online properties.

Internet marketing expert James Schramko makes it a point to regularly post videos and podcasts on his different business websites in order to enable Web users to gain access to his content in a variety of platforms, and the effort is surely creating a positive impact on his target audience (and the sites' performance as well). A recent news video update from the CEO compares the download rates of audio versus video content on SuperFastBusiness.com and explores ways for business owners to maintain an authoritative and credible website.

ThinkActGet.com, the podcast site where Schramko and New York-based marketer and Smart Marketer Inc.'s Creative Director Ezra Firestone discuss business and mindset topics, is doing well — the two business experts have recently recorded their ninth episode and are seeing positive results on iTunes. Similarly informative and engaging audio content can also be found on SuperFastBusiness.com, a perfect example of which is Schramko's latest interview with Firestone (also an online retailing expert) on ecommerce which inspired rave responses from listeners.

Schramko also reveals two excellent practices for building authority. "Put a great course or a great blog post on your blog for free, tell people about it, and ask them to share it," says the seasoned entrepreneur. He previously performed this action himself by making the highly popular Own the Racecourse training course — an information product only initially available to members of his Internet business forum coaching community FastWebFormula — available for free on the SuperFastBusiness site. This move helped the site generate greater high-quality traffic and provided more value for users.

The other step is to put a course into Udemy, a global website for online courses, and let consumers and potential customers discover what a particular company is all about. "That can lead to jobs and consulting and all sorts of interviews and other things," Schramko explains. "So, the main tip is this: Put something authoritative out there, because otherwise, it’s really hard to be seen as an authority."

Relevant updates to the current online business scene are also discussed in Schramko's business news update. He cites a major search engine's announcement that it will be closing its RSS reader and offers other ways for site owners to continue getting their RSS feeds. SpeedDash.com is one tool that can be utilized in this case, as well as another strategy suggested by a Fast Web Formula member: "He takes the RSS feeds, runs it through IfThisThenThat (IFTTT), and has it sent to his Evernote. That’s a great way to get your RSS news straight into Evernote."

The same search engine has also made it known that new algorithm updates will be coming soon, and Schramko advises businesses to stay on their toes and reassess their current practices. "Keep that good content going on your site, protect yourself, and try to get the percentage of SEO traffic to your site down but the overall traffic up. That way, you’ve got traffic coming from multiple places. Another good place to get traffic is Facebook — it’s not so SEO dependent."
