Javier Vazquez Has Been Appointed to the MDX Board of Directors by Governor Rick Scott
Miami, Fl (PRWEB) April 01, 2014 -- Javier Vazquez has been appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) Board of Directors for a term of four years.
Mr. Vazquez is currently a Partner, Berger Singerman, with over 25 years of experience in real estate, zoning, land use, governmental regulation, and public hearing law. He is an active board member of the Children’s Cancer Caring Center, is an associate member of the Urban Land Institute, Florida Bar Environmental and Land Use Law, Miami Lakes Bar Association, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Real Estate Committee. Mr. Vazquez received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and earned his Bachelor of Science, from Florida International University.
The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority’s board of directors brings a broad cross-section of transportation, business and professional expertise, as well as civic, environmental, county and state interest and commitment. Of the 13, 12 members are volunteer, non-paid local business and civic leaders. The 13th member is the Florida Department of Transportation District Six Secretary, who serves as an ex-officio MDX board member. Of the 12 volunteers, Florida’s Governor appoints five of them and the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners appoints the remaining seven members.
