Woburn, MA (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- Two of Monotype's resident type experts will share insights on trends in typography at the ATypI Amsterdam 2013, the annual conference presented by ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale), Oct. 9-13, 2013. Come by and join Jörg Schweinsberg and Dr. Nadine Chahine as they discuss Web typography with OpenType fonts and the mechanics of eye movement in reading Arabic typefaces.
• Jörg Schweinsberg, director of Creative Professional font development, will present, “Enhanced Web Typography with OpenType Fonts.” Harnessing the power of OpenType in desktop applications such as Adobe Creative Suite is one thing. But how about using OpenType typographic features for Web design? This presentation will explore the current state of the art with respect to tools, browser support and different approaches to deploying OpenType features to craft more beautiful websites. • Dr. Nadine Chahine, Arabic specialist, will present, “Eye Movement and the Legibility of Arabic Typefaces.” This presentation will examine the mechanics of eye movement in reading, the different factors that can affect reading, and eye movement control. Nadine will also present the first legibility study for Arabic typefaces that tests the effect of the complexity of typographic styles and vocalization on reading measures.
