KickShark to ship HydraDock, the first working USB-C USB 3.1 dock and hub for the 12 inch Apple MacBook and Google Pixel
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) December 16, 2015 -- Today, KickShark, Inc. announces its fully functioning, production ready 13-port HydraDock USB Type C USB 3.1 docking station and hub for the 2015 12 inch Apple MacBook and new Google Pixel laptop. The company has demonstration videos posted and is taking pre-orders now on its HydraDock web site for February shipment to customers.
“After over a year of relentless development, with major support from over 1,200 Kickstarter and BackerKit backers, our team is excited that the world’s first fully standards compliant USB-C USB 3.1 docking station is going to mass production,” said Kristin Cales, marketing director for KickShark. “Our 1,500 piece pilot run in January is going directly to our crowdfunding backers. However, we have opened a pre-order campaign on the HydraDock web site for our full mass production run that will ship on February 26th. We only have 10,000 chipsets available for February. So, we encourage everyone to get their pre-orders submitted before January 16th.”
All input and output connections of the 13-port HydraDock are full compliant with the newest USB standards for data, power, configuration, and alternate mode operations. HydraDock sits under or behind the MacBook or Pixel, plugs in with its single cable, and is powered by the computer’s AC-DC power adapter. It can operate in reduced power mode just from the computer connection, without a power supply.
HydraDock powers 4K displays by Mini DisplayPort or HDMI, two USB-C USB 3.1 ports and four USB Type A USB 3.1 ports (all at 5Gb/sec. speeds), SDXC cards up to 260MB/sec, Gigabit Ethernet, CD-quality stereo audio input or output — all without shortcuts, using state of the art fully standards compliant USB components and circuitry.
