LA Movies-in-the-Park Series Eat|See|Hear to Present Two New Movie Screenings on August 20 and 27
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) August 15, 2016 -- Looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday evening with family and friends? Come to an Eat|See|Hear outdoor movie event! The traveling outdoor movie, food truck and live music series has planned two new events for the last two Saturdays in August. Both events are sure to appeal to families, as well as people of all ages and stages of life.
On August 20, Eat|See|Hear will show the 1985 family classic, The Goonies, at La Cienega Park in Beverly Hills. On the following Saturday night, August 27, Eat|See|Hear will travel to the Santa Monica High School Amphitheatre to present the 1987 Mel Brooks timeless comedy, Spaceballs. Showtime for both events is at 8:30 p.m.
La Cienega Park is located at 325 South La Cienega Blvd., in Beverly Hills. A limited number of complimentary parking spaces are available at the tennis center across the street from the park, at 321 South La Cienega Blvd. There are also pay-to-park lots at 250 and 239 South La Cienega, along with street parking. The entrance to the event is on Gregory Way, just off of La Cienega.
The Santa Monica High School Amphitheatre is located at 601 Pico Blvd., in Santa Monica. Parking is available at the Civic Center parking lot on 4th Street. Movie-goers should enter the amphitheatre on 4th Street, in between the DoubleTree Hotel and the track.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. “It’s a good idea to arrive early so you can claim your spot and get settled in before the show starts,” says Sharon Sperber, co-owner of Eat|See|Hear. While La Cienega Park is a very large, grassy lawn, and the Santa Monica High School location is at a concrete amphitheatre with built-in seating, movie-goers at either location should bring pillows, blankets and/or cushions to sit on.
Adding to the enjoyment both weeks are live performances from up-and-coming indie bands. August 20’s musical guest will be Halloway, a four-piece rock band based in Los Angeles comprised of Joe Scolari, Yunus Iyriboz, Rob Nagelhout and Will Baldocchi. August 27’s performance will feature another LA-based alternative band, Magic Bronson, which is made up of producers Michael Nicastro and Matthew Lieberman. Bands will take the stage at approximately 7 p.m.
Food trucks will be on site and open-for-business starting at 5:30 p.m. “You can count on there being a large selection of vendors and menus each week,” Sperber says. “That includes multiple vegan and vegetarian options, as well as some gluten-free food choices.”
As is the case with every Eat|See|Hear event, well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, and will be greeted at the door with a free dog biscuit. “Be sure to bring some extra dog treats, a water bowl and waste bags, so your pet and those around you will all be happy,” suggests Sperber.
General admission tickets are $14 each for adults and $8 for children 5 to 12 years old when purchased in advance. Children age 5 and under are free. Tickets for the August 20 event can be purchased online at

In addition to general admission tickets, a limited number of “Fashionably Late” passes are available for $21 each. “These VIP tickets provide a reserved section near the front of the venue, so you are guaranteed to have a great view regardless of what time you arrive.” Sperber says. Fashionably Late tickets must be purchased in advance online, and are not available for sale or upgrade at the door.
