Laïka, an Autonomous Robot Companion for Dogs, Nearly Doubles Funding Goal on Indiegogo
PARIS, Nov. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Laïka, a CES 2018 award winner in the Drones and Robotics categories, fully funded on Indiegogo within 24 hours and is now over 160 percent funded with 11 days remaining in its crowdfunding campaign. Laïka helps dog owners by monitoring, interacting and rewarding dogs while owners are not at home.
CamToy, the creators of Laïka, conducted a survey and found out that 70 percent of dogs stay home alone for at least four hours a day. To entertain dogs while owners are away, Laïka uses live video and audio that allow owners to interact with their pet from anywhere via their smartphone. Additionally, Laïka's self-running mode occupies dogs when owners are unable to interact via the app, and its chew-proof design allows for dogs to play without destroying Laïka. Owners can even reward their pets anytime, anywhere by using the treat dispenser, which holds up to 30 treats.
Laïka's tracker fits on a collar and monitors the dog's location while the charging base ensures that owners never have to worry about Laïka running out of battery. Future stretch goals include a 5 megapixel camera, night vision mode and more color options in addition to pink and blue, which are currently available.
