Nonprofit Hosts Food Day, Healthy Living Events in Pennsylvania

Massage School San Diego has honored the Kellyn Foundation with one of its “step forward” awards this week, in recognition of the Food Day and healthy living events it is currently hosting in Pennsylvania.

In honor of its Food Day celebration and local healthy living events around Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, the Kellyn Foundation has been recognized with one of Massage School San Diego’s “step forward” awards this week., a strong supporter of raw organic foods, San Diego massage schools, and healthy living in general, issues these awards regularly to groups and individuals who make waves in the healthy living or massage therapy movements.

Nonprofit organization the Kellyn Foundation is hosting its second annual Food Day in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. The organization is hosting a series of events in honor of the celebration. The Eating Real in Easton event will include informative lessons on local gardening, cooking with fresh produce and spring planting. There will also be a park clean-up, free recipes and a freshly prepared dinner for all participants. Other events include educational movie screenings at local colleges, a Halloween parade and a Food Day Symposium.

The Kellyn Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It aims to educate and promote healthy lifestyles, both physically and emotionally. The foundation focuses much of its efforts on fighting and educating the public about childhood obesity.

Lehigh Valley is a Metropolitan area consisting of three cities: Allentown, New Jersey, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Easton, Pennsylvania. Its population has grown 11 percent in the last 10 years; as of the 2010 Census, the area had a population of more than 821,000 residents. The area earned its name from the Lehigh River, which runs through the center. Historically, Lehigh Valley was a big industrial hub, manufacturing much of the country’s steel and cement. Now, the area is home to a plethora of higher education facilities, including Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lehigh University, Lafayette College, Moravian College, Muhlenberg College, Penn State Lehigh Valley and three community colleges.
