We will show how our evidence management system helps law enforcement offices meet standards required for preserving the integrity of evidence with a tight chain of custody at the CALEA Conference.

LEID Products, LLC., the leader in electronic locker and cabinet storage with biometric asset protection and control, today announced they will be attending the CALEA Conference November 14-17 in Jacksonville, Florida. LEID Products will showcase its groundbreaking BACS Evidence Management System – which helps meet the property and evidence control and tracking standards required by CALEA – in Booth #24 on November 14-15.

CALEA, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, is an accreditation agency whose purpose is to improve the delivery of public safety services by maintaining certain standards, establishing and administering an accreditation process, and recognizing professional excellence. The conference provides industry professionals and suppliers a marketplace for exhibiting and viewing products available for use in public safety.

“Property and evidence control has historically been a problematic area for law enforcement. The inconsistency or lack of proper documentation for temporary storage of evidence going into and coming out of the property room is of great concern,” said Sam Hoff, president of LEID Products. “We will show how our evidence management system helps law enforcement offices meet standards required for preserving the integrity of evidence with a tight chain of custody at the CALEA Conference.”

The BACS Evidence Management System – with LEID’s Electronic Evidence Lockers and BACS Evidence Management ID Station Kiosk – successfully provides access and tracking for evidence moving into and out of property rooms. The system has been proven to help achieve better chain of custody, increased accuracy in reporting, and time savings. A biometric ID reader allows access verification while touch screen user navigation provides ease of use in the most up to date technology offering. For departments that barcode or RFID evidence, LEID offers an option to add a barcode or RFID reader. The ID Station interfaces with LEID’s Electronic Evidence Lockers to secure the safest temporary storage possible.
