Lexington’s Beaumont Farms Apartments is Adding to Its Already Eye-Pleasing Landscaping
Lexington, KY (PRWEB) June 22, 2014 -- Beaumont Farms Apartments is already a fantastic place to live, both indoors and out, with a community pool, a 2.5-mile walking trail, and garden plots available for tenant rental, but changes are coming around the complex thanks to a $70,000 landscaping project, Michael Orsinelli, the complex’s property manager, announced today.
“We already had garden plots in place that proved to be really popular with the folks here,” Orsinelli said, “and all the plots were rented in the first two days. Considering the winter we just experienced, I think people are ready to get outside and grow something. Because of the demand, we’re hoping to have more gardening area to offer next spring.”
Orsinelli noted that the landscaping enhancements include addition of plants around the complex’s buildings, plants that include oakleaf hydrangeas, green mountain boxwoods, china girl hollies, and knockout roses.
“The boxwoods and hollies are evergreens, so we’ll have some nice green all summer that will still be around if we get covered in snow starting in December like we did last winter,” Orsinelli said. “The dark green is really striking against a white background, and the hollies have a real abundance of red berries starting in the fall. We’re really looking forward to the combination of colors.”
In addition to the oakleaf hydrangeas, which can grow as tall as 10 feet and nearly as wide and produce long cone-shaped, snowy white flower clusters throughout the summer, and the knockout roses, virtually indestructible plants that boast a profusion of rose blooms all summer, Beaumont Farms’ landscaping crews are planting daylilies, a true crowd-pleaser and dependable color-producer.
“We’re going for understated uniformity and at the same time trying to convey a sense of country living right here in town,” Orsinelli said. “When our folks step outside or come home after a long day at work or school, we want them to feel like they’re really coming home, kind of escaping the fast pace of life outside Beaumont Farms. We think this landscaping project is going to help us accomplish that.”
