Liberty Buick GMC Sponsors Mint Hill American Legion Baseball Teams for the 2014 Season

This is why Scott McCorkle, owner of Liberty Buick GMC in Matthews, is once again a sponsor the Mint Hill American Legion VFW Post 4059 baseball teams.
The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veteran’s service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
“Partnering with this outstanding organization of veterans in support of our youth is very close to my heart,” says McCorkle. As a community-minded business owner serving the automotive needs of the Charlotte, Matthews and Weddington communities, McCorkle chooses to only sponsor organizations and events that align with his personal family and community values.
For 6 years, McCorkle has supported the Mint Hill American Legion baseball teams with uniforms and a bus to provide transportation to the away games in other parts of the state.
American Legion Baseball enjoys a reputation as one of the most successful and tradition-rich amateur athletic leagues. Today, the program registers more than 5,400 teams in all 50 states, including Canada and Puerto Rico.
The Mint Hill American Legion has been coaching Charlotte area young men since 1952. Coach Steve Baucom of the 2014 Army Juniors, Army Seniors and Marine Juniors says, “Without sponsors like Liberty Buick GMC, it would be very hard to continue to mentor our youth through baseball.”
Liberty Buick GMC is also a sponsor of 91.9 New Life radio station’s annual Faith, Family and Freedom Concert to be held on June 21st.
