Lighthouse Security Group Pilots Gateway Services on IBM SoftLayer Infrastructure-as-a-Service
Lincoln, RI (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- Lighthouse Security Group today announced it will pilot the Lighthouse Gateway™, its market-leading, cloud-based, identity and access management (IAM) platform, on IBM® SoftLayer™. Built on a proven IBM IAM software foundation, Lighthouse Gateway provides clients with enterprise class technology at a significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO), quicker deployment time, and improved agility over conventional enterprise IAM solutions.
Lighthouse hosts its Gateway services in traditional datacenters primarily in the US, while serving more than 14 million users in over 57 countries. The company is currently piloting Gateway services within chosen SoftLayer IaaS locations along-side its traditional datacenters.

IBM acquired SoftLayer, one of the industry’s largest cloud computing infrastructure providers, in 2013. SoftLayer‘s incredibly fast self-service or fully managed infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) gives companies the ability to deploy and scale virtual and dedicated bare-metal servers on-demand, quickly develop applications, and run production-ready workloads. By utilizing SoftLayer IaaS capabilities to underpin certain Lighthouse Gateway services, Lighthouse aims to provide a more flexible delivery model for clients that can fully utilize benefits such as on-demand capacity, scalability, and geographic portability of computing resources within the Gateway environments.
Maass added: "Initially we'll be using the SoftLayer services in the US along-side our core collocated services primarily for warm disaster recovery purposes as we refine deployment throughout the pilot period. As the pilot concludes in late Q1, the company will look to bring the SoftLayer based Gateway services live for clients in Q2."
