Maier selected as Board of Director for The Indiana Council on Problem Gambling
NOBLESVILLE, IND. (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- (October 30, 2013) – Susie Maier, Clinical Director of Outpatient Services in Madison County at Aspire Indiana, Inc. was recently appointed to serve on The Indiana Council on Problem Gambling (ICPG) Board of Directors.
Maier brings to the ICPG Board extensive experience promoting and expanding the assessment and treatment for individuals with behavioral health issues, particularly problem gambling. During her 17 years of service she has managed and provided services throughout Indiana, served on numerous boards such as The United Way of Madison County, Second Harvest Food Bank, and The Crossing School Board. Maier has provided mental health and addiction training and suicide prevention training to Madison County law enforcement and Hoosier Park employees. She has also provided critical incident and stress debriefing to individuals who have been involved in traumatic events.
Maier states, “It is so gratifying to know that in my role on the ICPG, I can be a resource to someone who lives here in Indiana who needs continuing treatment. Problem gambling can be a devastating problem for individuals and family members, and coming to Aspire means they will find care and knowledge from treatment professionals who understand their needs.”
Maier currently oversees the outpatient services for mental health and addiction for adults and children in both the Aspire locations in Madison County, located in Anderson and Elwood, Indiana. She also serves on the Hoosier Lottery’s Responsible Gaming Advisory Board which works together with Hoosier Lottery officials to promote responsible gaming practices.
The Indiana Council on Problem Gambling works to generate awareness, promote education, and be an advocate for quality treatment of problem gamblers in the State of Indiana. The ICPG seeks to work with all individuals and organizations involved in gaming activities that address problem gambling in Indiana.
