Web Design Company in Washington Auctions Competitive Domain Names for Budding Legal Marijuana Industry

These domain names would be perfect for a Seattle cannabis outlet targeting connoisseur consumers, or a Seattle-area cannabis review blog or affiliate marketing website.

THC Web Design has announced that they will be extending their recently-advertised domain name auction to run through April 20th instead of April 12th. The domain names that are up for auction are,,, and They are being sold via blind auction, with a starting price of $1,000 for the four domains.

Noel Abbott, the company's founder, said, "These domain names would be perfect for a Seattle cannabis outlet targeting connoisseur consumers, or a Seattle-area cannabis review blog or affiliate marketing website. The internet is going to be a really big part of the new hemp industry. There are already some major players, such as WeedMaps, who bought for 4.2 million dollars." *

Abbott believes that when the legal marijuana market eventually takes flight, competition will surge among licensed retail outlets, especially when it comes to online marketing. "Medical marijuana dispensaries exist all over Seattle, and when I-502 takes effect, these new recreational retail stores are going to be limited by even stricter regulations on the ways they can advertise via their storefronts. That means the battle for attention is going to have to take place on the internet. And in my opinion, internet marketing is probably the most ethical way to advertise cannabis, as it only targets those people who are actively seeking out the product, and is therefore less likely to be discovered by underage people."

In short, Abbott thinks that online marketing is going to be a massive element of the hemp industry. He added, "It's not hard to imagine that if Google starts allowing Adwords campaigns targeted to cannabis keywords, they are going to make a huge pile of money."

According to THC Web Design's website, "The reason for the change in the auction's ending date is that we recently acquired two domains that contribute greatly to the brand security of the original domains that were up for auction, so we will be adding them to the lot. The starting price of $1000 will not change, but those who have already submitted bids may change or retract their bid at any time before the deadline if they so choose. The auction date will not be changed a second time."

The winning bidder's identity will be kept private, and they will be informed that they are the winner on April 21st. The transaction will be managed via, with the stipulation that funding will be transferred into Escrow no later than June 4th. After June 4th, if the funding has not been transferred into Escrow, the second-highest bidder will be given the opportunity to purchase the domains at their bidding price. If they decline, the third-highest bidder will be notified, and so on.

THC Web Design is a division of THC Media Group, a digital media and online marketing start-up planning to offer web development, search engine optimization, and ethically responsible marketing services to Washington State's legal hemp industry next year. They have previously marketed their services to Seattle medical marijuana cooperatives, Abbott said, "but the sense is that these two markets will eventually merge, and we are hoping to be an industry leader in the recreational, for-profit market."
