Weaker Hemp Derivatives Can’t Compare to Full-Spectrum Marijuana Pills

Hemp-derived CBD products lacking THC and other therapeutic phytocannabinoids are no substitute for the pain-relieving qualities of full-spectrum medicinal marijuana products, according to Idrasil.

Idrasil is a safe, all-natural pain reliever.

For patients experiencing higher pain levels, and those who are concerned about side-effects like addiction, withdrawal or NSAID-induced liver damage, Idrasil is the perfect all-natural alternative.

The emergence of hemp-derived cannibidiol (CBD) products may be good news for the US hemp movement, but patients seeking effective relief for mid-level pain need full-spectrum medical marijuana products, says Theresa Smith, director of the C3 Patients Association, makers of Idrasil full-spectrum marijuana pills.

Smith explains that hemp-derived CBD pills marketed in the same medical space as pills containing THC, CBD and all other naturally occurring phytocannabinoids do not contain the complete set of pain-relieving phytocannabinoids found in marijuana-based medications like Idrasil, which is available in the US, or Sativex, available in the UK.

Phytocannabinoids are naturally-occurring compounds present in cannabis, the marijuana plant.
The most prominent of these are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), but there are actually more than 65 phytocannabinoids present in cannabis, and many of these have known medicinal qualities.

Smith recommends Idrasil—which contains the full spectrum of phytocannabinoids—as a safe, all-natural pain reliever for patients who need something more powerful than over-the-counter, non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen.

“NSAIDs can be effective for many people suffering from pain levels up to about three or four [on a scale of one to ten],” said Smith. “But for patients experiencing higher pain levels, and those who are concerned about side-effects like addiction, withdrawal or NSAID-induced liver damage, Idrasil is the perfect all-natural alternative.”

Idrasil is a much safer alternative to prescription pain-killer opioid drugs such as hydrocodone (Vicodin), oxycodone (OxyContin, Percocet), morphine (Roxanol, Kadian) and Fentanyl, according to Smith, who points out that opioids have powerful addictive properties and are responsible for fatal overdoses.

“Opioids are so dangerous, they shouldn’t ever be considered until the pain level is at least a seven,” said Smith. “We believe Idrasil is perfect for treating pain levels level four and greater. And because Idrasil is reimbursable by most insurance plans—an industry first—it’s attractive to many patients.”

The medical community is excited about Idrasil’s standardized 25mg full-spectrum cannabis pill that is currently recommended by physicians primarily for the treatment of pain, nausea and sleeplessness, as well as for relief from emotional disturbances such as anxiety, depression and PTSD.

The C3 Patients Association extracts whole, standardized and consistent phytocannabinoids using a proprietary technology in a laboratory. The extract is then converted from a liquid to a solid using a second proprietary process. The tablets are measured at 25mg of active ingredients each, so every pill delivers the same amount of medication.
