Midwest Reproductive Center Unveils New State-of-the-Art IVF Lab
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- Midwest Reproductive Center announces that it has expanded its accredited IVF laboratory, and added a world-class embryologist to its team. As one of the region’s only in vitro fertilization laboratories, or IVF lab, the facility was designed from the foundation level to directly contribute to pregnancy success rates established by Midwest Reproductive Center.
The founder of Midwest Reproductive Center, Dr. Dan Gehlbach, spearheaded and oversaw every detail of the new IVF lab. “This new IVF lab demonstrates our commitment to helping men and women overcome infertility; it provides the Kansas City community ready access to world-class andrology and embryology services, genetic testing and fertility preservation. The specifications of the redesigned space and state-of-the-art systems within will enhance every single fertility procedure we perform.”
In addition to standard in vitro fertilization protocols that combine egg and sperm to create an embryo, the Midwest Reproductive Center IVF lab team performs the very latest techniques in advanced reproductive technologies:
• Oocyte vitrification and retrievals
• ICSI cases (male infertility treatment)
• Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)
• Embryo transfers
• Blastocyst vitrification

Dr. Dan Gehlbach, board certified reproductive endocrinologist, directs the laboratory services and embryologists who are devoted to helping patients achieve successful outcomes. The newest addition to the Midwest Reproductive Center team, Dr. Oscar Perez, is considered a pioneer in human embryology.
Dr. Perez was the first embryologist to earn certification in human embryology, and is known for his research on elective single embryo transfer, oocyte vitrification and blastomere and trophectoderm biopsies.
“When we opened the doors to Midwest Reproductive Center nine years ago, we invited the Kansas City community to join with us for an Open House,” says Dr. Gehlbach. “While we can’t have visitors within a sterile lab environment, we hope that men and women experiencing infertility feel welcome to take advantage of our state-of-the-art IVF laboratory services.”
