Our partnership with Isle of Wight extends our site bank into the Tidewater region, an area of Virginia where we look forward to future growth.
Reston, VA (PRWEB) March 28, 2013
Wireless infrastructure development and management firm, Milestone Communications, announced the signing of a marketing agreement with Isle of Wight County Schools. Under the terms of the agreement, Milestone will market sites on school properties as potential locations for future wireless towers in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. The agreement contains a cooperative procurement clause allowing other school systems and government organizations in Virginia to ride the award for future projects.
Milestone’s tower site marketing agreements enable government landowners to unlock potential value in public property by making it available for wireless infrastructure expansion opportunities. As carriers develop their networks to meet growing demand for speed and capacity, Milestone works with residents and other stakeholders at each stage of the tower building process, ensuring a predictable path from site identification to revenue-generating leases.
Isle of Wight County is one of the oldest county governments in the U.S. Nestled on the shores of Virginia’s James River, Isle of Wight’s residents enjoy the rural nature of the county coupled with the quaint atmosphere of the two incorporated towns, Smithfield and Windsor. The county serves 5,500 students with five elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools.
“We are delighted to be selected by the Isle of Wight County School Board to serve the community as their needs for wireless voice and high-speed data access grow,” said Milestone CEO Len Forkas. “Our partnership with Isle of Wight extends our site bank into the Tidewater region, an area of Virginia where we look forward to future growth.”
Milestone currently manages more than 800 sites in Virginia, the largest bank of government tower sites in the state.
