MANCHESTER, N.H., Sept. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Minim, the cloud-managed WiFi and IoT security platform for smart homes, today announced a new CEO, Graham "Gray" Chynoweth, as well as leadership team additions that draw upon the success formula that led to Dyn's (ACQ: Oracle) global expansion and 30x growth:
- Gray Chynoweth, former COO of Dyn, now joins Minim as CEO
- Jeremy Hitchcock, former Founder/CEO of Dyn, moves to Executive Chairman, Minim
- Andy Piggott, former VP User Experience at Dyn, now joins Minim as SVP Customer Success
- John D'Amato, former Director of BD at Dyn, now joins Minim as VP Business Development
Repeating their strategic partnership at Dyn, Hitchcock will continue to guide Minim's corporate and product strategy while Chynoweth will manage the company's operations and execution.
"Startup success is right time, right place— but it has to be the right team, too," said Hitchcock. "I'm thrilled to work with this group again to exact revenge on IoT attacks like Mirai and solve managed WiFi in the home. With our announcements at The Independent Show, customer deployments, and some big news just around the corner at IBC in Amsterdam, it's an exciting time for the company. It's clear that SMBs and homes need a massive change in network management and security."
Last month at The Independent Show, Minim launched an integration with Motorola hardware and announced a partnership with Zoom Telephonics. The Minim Cloud has been extended to over a dozen hardware models, including the following brands: ASUS, GL.iNet, Linksys, MikroTik, Motorola, TP-Link, and ReadyNet. Enabling ISPs to better connect, manage, and secure the smart home for increased revenue and lower support costs, Minim has been recently named a Top IoT Startup by Startup City and honored with an IoT Breakthrough Award for Consumer Product of the Year.
"Everybody loves an awesome sequel: Terminator 2, The Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight," said Chynoweth. "I'm so excited to work with some of Dyn's best and the amazing talent at Minim. We will use the lessons learned at Dyn to build a company that delivers even more value to customers, an even better experience to employees, and even more substantial returns to stakeholders."
Chynoweth added, "The best part is that John, Andy, and I are joining a cast with some very familiar characters. In addition to Jeremy, we're also thrilled to be working with Liz, Chris, and Sarah."
Additional Dyn alumni now working at Minim include:
- Elizabeth Hitchcock, Founder
- Sarah Bennert, Senior QA Engineer
- Christopher Flynn, DevOps Engineer
Chynoweth comes to Minim as a seasoned leader in operations, finance, and business development. Prior to Minim, he held the positions of Chief Membership Officer for Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) and COO of Dyn. He now serves as a director for Millworks Fund, 10X Ventures, and Primary Bank. Chynoweth holds a JD from Duke University School of Law, an MA in Public Policy from Duke University, and a BA in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
"We backed Minim's founding team based on their stellar track record and vision for tackling the challenge of managing and securing the IoT explosion in homes," said David Aronoff, general partner at Flybridge Capital Partners, a Minim investor. "Now with a critical mass of partners, customers, and talent, Minim has validated that vision and is on an impressive path. Bringing Gray on board to help Minim scale operations is a tremendous coup for the company, and I'm excited to work with him."
