Besides an immediate need to identify, customize and channelize resources related to pregnancy and parenting to young educated and/or working women, who are often forced to choose between their careers and the desire to build a family, there is also a need to connect the various resources together into comprehensive solutions which can offer an even higher value. MomPluss is in a position to offer such end-to-end solutions, making it the ideal choice as a single point of contact for meeting the various needs that arise during the phases of pregnancy & parenting.
MomPluss is the first online venture of co-founders Aditya Banerjee, a serial entrepreneur with experience in diverse industries and Dr.Smita Vats, a practising Gynecologist. During his stint in the healthcare industry, Aditya was fascinated by the myriad opportunities for better healthcare delivery. He believes, “If we want to find sustainable solutions to the healthcare challenges that face us in India, then we cannot do it without leveraging technology to the maximum extent possible.” Dr.Smita is very excited about the opportunities offered by the online platforms, to match the demand for healthcare with the available resources at an unprecedented efficiency. MomPluss has thus been born out of the simple idea of leveraging available technologies to make the right resources accessible to a specific category of women.
Reflecting the central role of women in families, MomPluss enables its users to create multiple profiles (corresponding to various people) under one account and track each profile independently. The primary user interface features a simple and familiar chat window which captures all queries, responses and transactions between the user and the product. All resources selected/used by the user are consolidated in a dashboard so that they can be easily accessed again when required. An inbuilt scheduler keeps track of all important activities planned and sends reminder notifications to the user. The strength of peer support is leveraged by enabling users to join various moderated communities and engage in discussions with other community members on topics of common interest.
The MomPluss product is already available as an App on both iOS Appstore and GooglePlay (both under MomPluss) and also as a website (http://www.mompluss.com). A typical user-product interaction starts with a general search for actionable information or a practical tool or even a direct query for a specific need. MomPluss then responds with alternates or further queries (if they are needed to specify the user requirement) and offers a solution in as few steps as reasonably possible.
