“Morgan Drexen has always believed in the power of giving people a second chance,” said Walter Ledda, Morgan Drexen CEO. “That’s exactly what Royal Family KIDS does."

Employees of Morgan Drexen Integrated Systems are delivering a little extra hope to children who could certainly use it. Company officials presented Royal Family KIDS with a check for $1,200 - money that was raised through a pair of employee fundraising events. Royal Family KIDS is a charity based out of Santa Ana, CA, that operates life-changing camps and other programs for children who are victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment.

“Morgan Drexen has always believed in the power of giving people a second chance,” said Walter Ledda, Morgan Drexen CEO. “That’s exactly what Royal Family KIDS does. It gives children who are in a vulnerable state another chance at happiness, another chance at life. Our employees recognized that and gave generously. As always, I’m very proud of them.”

In February, Morgan Drexen transformed a corner of its first floor headquarters into a makeshift flower shop. As part of the Valentine’s Day fundraiser, employees were encouraged to buy rose bouquets for their sweetheart or even a co-worker. That event raised several hundred dollars for Royal Family KIDS. A few weeks later, the company held a “denim day” event in which employees could wear jeans to work for a $5 donation. Once again, employees dug deep to help this worthwhile charity.

"We are thrilled to have Morgan Drexen as a community partner," said Chris Carmichael, Vice President of Development for Royal Family KIDS. "They are standing alongside our staff and volunteers to help us confront child abuse and change lives, and together we are providing hope for children in foster care."

According to Royal Family KIDS, 3.6 million cases of child abuse, neglect or abandonment are reported every year in the United States. The charity offers foster children ages 6-12 transformational weeklong camps held across the country. Participants also have access to adult mentoring and monthly club events.

“Most kids in the foster care system don’t have happy memories of family vacations; no baby books, no baseball cards,” says Glenn Garvin, the organization’s Vice President of Camps. “Royal Family KIDS’ Camp becomes the highlight of their year, a building block for making positive memories.”

Morgan Drexen is proud to partner with Royal Family KIDS and nearly a dozen other charities, both locally and nationally. To donate to Royal Family KIDS, or to learn about volunteer or sponsorship opportunities, click here.
