Most People Report Sleep Issues; Natures Sleep Says This Can Lead To A Variety Of Problems
Davie, FL (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Natures Sleep knows that millions of Americans are not getting enough sleep and Alan Hirschhorn, Vice President of Marketing for Natures Sleep, says that the effects of not sleeping enough can lead to dangerous behavior, such as driving while tired. It can even effect different areas of life, such as health, with lack of sleep leading to increased weight gain.
“Most people are not getting enough sleep. As sleeping is something everyone does on a regular basis, you’d think we would all be much better at it than we are,” said Mr. Hirschhorn. “A good night’s sleep can boost a person’s mood, encourage continued health and increase alertness when going through daily activities. That is why it is a big problem that more people than not, are reporting having sleep troubles on a regular basis.”
According to a number of recent polls, including the National Sleep Foundation’s 2013 Bedroom Poll and a CDC study published in the April 26, 2012 issue of its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, millions of workers in the American workforce are not getting enough sleep on weeknights.
“The problem with not getting the amount of required sleep each night is that your brain doesn’t recharge and your cells don’t repair themselves. When your body doesn’t reset properly, you risk becoming unhealthy, moody, and making poor decisions,” said Mr. Hirchhorn.
How much sleep people need depends on age. A baby requires the most amount of sleep, dozing for about 16 hours per day. Children, preteens, and teenagers require about 10 hours a day. Seniors (56 and older) require 6 hours of sleep. Most adults (aged from 19 to 55) should be getting about 8 hours of sleep per day, but many are not getting the required amount.
“Natures Sleep doesn’t want to see people making poor decisions based on lack of sleep, such as driving while tired, or having health issues, such as obesity,” said Mr. Hirschhorn. Natures Sleep has several products designed specifically to help ensure people reach their own optimum amount of sleep each night.
