The women shared information about gluten-free products since several members have food sensitivities...Members also talked about their exercise programs, describing what classes they are taking and where.
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) March 13, 2013
During the monthly event, the group of professional women discussed the health and nutrition issues women face, supporting each other with advice on everything from various food sensitivities to the most effective exercise programs.
Celinet Ortiz, NAPW Collegeville Local Chapter President, kicked off the meeting by welcoming current and new members.
She then led the group of professional women in a lively and informative discussion about health and nutrition.
“The women shared information about gluten-free products since several members have food sensitivities,” said Ms. Ortiz. “Members also talked about their exercise programs, describing what classes they are taking and where.”
Collegeville Chapter Secretary Christine Lange next took the floor. She reminded members and guests that at the Chapter’s last meeting, Cheryl Raiken, Owner of Virtual Cheryl, spoke to the group about her business and how she could help them. Since that meeting, Ms. Raiken has added several members of the NAPW Collegeville Chapter to her email distribution list.
“I received a nice Valentine’s Day email message from Cheryl. The email was a pleasant surprise,” Christine Lange, Collegeville Chapter Secretary said.
“I highly recommend you exchange business cards with Cheryl so you can be added to her list of contacts.”
Ms. Lange added that the emails are not intrusive and are a nice pick-me-up during the course of a normal work day. She said she hoped to thank Ms. Raiken in person at a future Chapter meeting.
The Chapter President issued a reminder that members are responsible for joining or un-joining Local Chapters and all members are permitted to belong to more than one Local Chapter.
Ms. Ortiz told the crowd she is following the NAPW Philadelphia Local Chapter, which is very active.
“In the future, interested members of the Collegeville Local Chapter may attend a meeting of the NAPW Philadelphia Chapter,” said Ms. Ortiz.
“The Philadelphia Chapter meetings are held in downtown Philadelphia so carpooling is definitely an option.”
The Chapter President also announced that the Collegeville Chapter may meet in a different location, one that may be more convenient for the group of professional women. Ms. Ortiz is going to look at location availability in the Providence Town Center, which is located at the intersection of Routes 422 and 29.
The next Chapter meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th at 6:15pm. The meeting location has not yet been determined. Members are asked to check the NAPW Collegeville Chapter Page on napw.com for up-to-date information.
