NAPW San Mateo, CA Chapter Supported Local Festival in June and Pledged to Help Other Community & Charitable Groups in July
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW San Mateo, CA Local Chapter gathered on June 2nd and July 10th for professional networking meetings.
In June, the group of professional women staffed a booth at the Foster City Art and Wine Festival, a community activity hosted by the Foster City Chamber of Commerce. There, they introduced the San Mateo Chapter to community business owners and residents.
During the July networking meeting, members and guests discussed other ways they could connect with the community and each other, and made plans for upcoming networking events.
Dressed in pink t-shirts and wearing their Chapter pins, San Mateo Chapter members proudly represented the National Organization of Professional Women at the Foster City Art and Wine Festival.
“It was a wonderful opportunity for us to meet community business owners and residents from Foster City and San Mateo and help them understand what the NAPW San Mateo Chapter is all about!” said Chapter President Pamela S Frazier.
In July, members and guests gathered in the Cedar Room at the San Mateo Library.
After calling the meeting to order, President Frazier invited members and guests to introduce themselves.
Members talked about why they joined the San Mateo Chapter and the many benefits of membership and being involved in the Local Chapter.
The group of professional women suggested ideas for increasing the Chapter’s community and charity activities.
Athena suggested partnering with an organization or charity that supports children or teen activities.
Mary suggested working with organizations that are involved in providing housing for the elderly.
The Chapter President said she would send out another survey to all members to determine what charity or charities members would like to support in the coming year. Results of the survey will be relayed to all members and together, they will select one charity for 2013-2014 to support.
President Frazier also stated that she would contact the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce to determine benefits of the San Mateo Chapter joining the organization. She also suggested partnering with other Northern California Local Chapters for a combined event.
The President also spoke about the 2013 National Networking Conference that was held last spring.
“I encouraged all San Mateo members to try to attend next year’s conference. In addition to it being a great networking opportunity, it was a wonderful way to meet members from other Northern California Chapters,” said Local Chapter President Pamela Frazier.
The next San Mateo Chapter meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14th at 6:00pm (location to be announced).
One member will be asked to give a presentation on her business or other topic at the meeting.
