The Narconon drug education program has proven to reduce drug use in teens and I welcome the efforts of all who want to help educate our youth to help keep them off drugs.
Albion, MI (PRWEB) September 20, 2012
Narconon Freedom Center in Michigan, a residential alcohol and drug facility hosted a three day Drug Prevention Education Training workshop the first week of September 2012. World renowned drug prevention education specialist Bobby Wiggins, traveled from Los Angeles, CA, deliver the workshop to drug prevention specialists from Narconon Freedom Center and other Michigan based treatment centers. The goal is to be able to train enough resources to provide drug education to school aged children in Michigan.
More than 9% of Michigan resident are reported to be using illicit drugs. The state has a higher than average drug problem with state agencies reporting higher than usual meth lab busts. Michigan is also facing another major problem with the non-medical use of prescription drugs.
While various drug treatment options exist in the state to rehabilitate those abusing drugs a key component needs to be implemented in Michigan to stop the growing drug problem. That component is drug prevention.
“The Narconon drug education program has proven to reduce drug use in teens and I welcome the efforts of all who want to help educate our youth to help keep them off drugs. It was rewarding to deliver the workshop to the attendees at the Narconon Freedom Center workshop. Michigan has recently been a hotbed of substance abuse and those doing the workshop will be able to do something effective about the problem. For those we cannot reach directly we have developed an audio - visual program that can be used in schools everywhere,” says Wiggins.
In addition to delivering drug prevention education to children in schools, community groups and Churches, the specialists are also available to deliver drug prevention education to adults in civic groups.
