Who better than the talented Cloris Leachman to poke fun at the idea that tight leather jackets deliver the best websites?
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) February 4, 2011
Network Solutions® , the pioneer of domain name services today launched a raucous mockumentary video featuring the antics of Go Granny played by Academy Award winning actor Cloris Leachman. This is the first time the leading web services company is releasing an Internet video campaign during Super Bowl weekend. The video will also be aired across key social channels including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and BlogHer.
“Instead of investing millions of dollars in Super Bowl ads, we leveraged the power of the Internet to promote our brand, as we do for our small business customers every day,” said Sanjay Gupta, head of marketing for Network Solutions. “With a little bit of creativity and the support of an online community, we’re letting the masses know that as a company we like to have some fun, but when it comes to our customers, we take their business seriously.”
The Go Granny video features Cloris Leachman, as “Go Granny,” a strong-willed, saucy woman who proudly recounts her adventures as the first “Big Game Girl.” Go Granny is joined by Lisa Stone, an entrepreneur who takes a much different approach to helping people reach their business goals. She means serious business when it comes to growing the largest community of women bloggers online, BlogHer. The Go Granny video is fun, entertaining and drives home the message that serious business starts with Network Solutions.
"Who better than the talented Cloris Leachman to poke fun at the idea that tight leather jackets deliver the best websites?" said Lisa Stone, co-founder and CEO of BlogHer Inc., which reaches 25 million women each month. "We are happy to support Network Solutions' message that customer service and great marketing tools are what users need to build their businesses--after all, most U.S. small businesses are started by women, who also are the majority of Internet users."
Network Solutions has been helping small businesses succeed online for more than 30 years. As one of the early adopters of social media, Network Solutions was recently recognized by the Society for New Communication Research (SNCR) for Excellence in Online Reputation Management. Go Granny will go beyond the video and YouTube to share her wild escapades on the Network Solutions Facebook page and the Network Solutions corporate blog.
Go Granny will also highlight the wild escapades of her youth with celebrities and social media influencers alike on Twitter. Just follow the hashtag #GoGranny, and her Twitter handle @Go_Granny or @netsolcares on the following days to join her adventures:
