New Book Sheds Light Into Public School Systems and the Problems Associated with Education

Nation was born in a family who taught him to never quit. When he was in eighth grade, he got his very first job. It requires waking up at the wee hours in the morning and braving the chilly temperature to deliver newspapers to houses in a somewhat difficult route assigned to him. After a few days, he complained to his mother that the route is so hard. However, he was encouraged not to give up. His parents help him get organized; even making a map that he can easily follow to complete his errand. His mother said that he may quit the job at the end of the month so he can still get his salary. To his astonishment, he eventually learned to love the job. He basked in the thought that he is earning his own money.
This value was engraved on his mind. When he was in college, he wanted to be a doctor. However, he lacked the passion and the drive to study. His friends convinced him to take up education. This phase of his life started his career as a teacher. All that he learned from their small town, the values and the lessons that shaped his life as a child and as a teenager, made a great impact as he journey through life doing something that he genuinely love.
The Education of a Teacher is a collection of experiences that occurred in northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri throughout the years of being a teacher and a principal. This will help teachers and the public alike understand what is going on in public schools. It may help them be less critical and get more involved in the system.

About the Author
Noel Nation was born in Seminole and raised in Tulsa, Okla. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Southwest Baptist University in 1982 and his master of science in physical education from Oklahoma State University in 1990. After graduating from SBU, he immediately went to work in Cleveland, where he taught high school science and coached for thirteen years before he became an administrator at the middle school in 1995. In 2004, he was named Oklahoma’s Middle Level Principal of the Year. He has spent his whole teaching career in Cleveland and lives there today.
