NFCC Provides Financial Solutions for Americans Through New Sharpen Your Financial Focus Program™
Washington, EC (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- As the American economy struggles to find solid ground, American consumers continue their struggle to rebuild assets and stabilize their personal financial futures. To address this need, the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) created a unique set of financial tools to help people find solutions and make educated decisions in the increasingly complex world of personal finance.
The new Sharpen Your Financial Focus program allows consumers to identify their most pressing financial issue, and then select the appropriate solution options. The three steps of the program are as follows:
• MyMoneyCheckUp® available at http://www.SharpenToday.org. MyMoneyCheckUp is an online financial self-assessment tool designed to increase financial awareness and provide consumers with concrete steps to improve their financial well-being;
• A one-on-one financial review with an NFCC Certified Financial Professional to find solutions to current concerns and develop a realistic plan to meet long-term goals, and
• A financial education workshop designed as a “deep dive” into the major area(s) of interest to the consumer.
“One unique feature of the program is the flexibility it allows consumers, as they can begin the program with any of the three steps,” said Gail Cunningham, spokesperson for the NFCC. “Whether a person prefers an online diagnostic tool, an individual financial review or a group learning session, the important thing is to take the first step. This program makes that easy to do.”
Financial institutions including Bank of America, Chase, GE Capital Retail Finance and Wells Fargo are founders of the Sharpen Alliance, demonstrating their support of the delivery of financial education through NFCC Member Agencies across the country and in Puerto Rico.
