Monkey bars, mud holes, running across streams, climbing walls - all the stuff your Mom used to yell at you about. It’s like recess, unsupervised.
Manchester, NH (PRWEB) January 20, 2011
Brainium, Inc. announced today that it is now accepting registrations for the inaugural Renegade Playground Challenge (http://www.RenegadePlayground.com). While it will take place on a course roughly 5k in length, the Renegade Playground Challenge is no ordinary 5k race, but is the ultimate event for thrill-seeking athletes and ‘weekend warriors’ looking for a unique challenge.
Taking place June 4, 2011, the Renegade Playground Challenge will be held at the spectacular New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.
No, participants won’t be running on the racetrack, but will they will need to navigate over a dozen obstacles on a course that winds through the Speedway’s massive property. The obstacles may include
- Mud Crawl. Pretty much what it sounds like. Mud. Crawl.
- Water Fall. There will be water, and you’ll probably fall.
- Spider Web. Making it through this large rope web is easier if you wear a Spiderman costume.
- Hay You. No horse could eat its way through this wall of hay.
- Grandmother’s House. Over the river and through the woods…
- and many more involving waist-deep mud, monkey bars, cargo nets, walls, and other exciting and unusual challenges.
Those who survive earn the title of true Renegades and get a t-shirt and free beer for their efforts.
“People are looking for new ways to challenge themselves beyond boring 5k road races, and the sports of Adventure Racing and Mud Runs are taking off around the country,” said Dave Soucy, one of the Co-Founders of the Renegade Playground Challenge. “The Renegade Playground Challenge gives people a way to compete while having more fun than they’ve probably had since they were a kid. Monkey bars, mud holes, running across streams, climbing walls - all the stuff your Mom used to yell at you about. It’s like recess, unsupervised.”
The Renegade Playground Challenge is a proud supporter of the New Hampshire Food Bank, and will be accepting non-perishable food and cash donations at the June 4th event. Future Challenges are being planned at various locations in New England and beyond. For additional information, please visit http://www.RenegadePlayground.com.
