Symphony programs like Sensory Friendly Concerts harmonize perfectly with Northwest Center’s mission of inclusion. As part of our sponsorship, Northwest Center will be present at several Symphony performances in November.
SENSORY FRIENDLY CONCERTS
Northwest Center parents often tell us how important music is in the lives of their children, so we’re excited to be part of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra Sensory Friendly Concerts. These 35-minute performances are designed especially for children 5-8 with Autism or other sensory sensitivities. Children of all abilities will love the opportunity to interact with instruments and meet musicians. Northwest Center will be there with fun gifts for the kids and information for parents, too.

WHEN PEOPLE OF ALL ABILITIES LEARN AND WORK TOGETHER, EVERYONE BENEFITS
People of different abilities are a natural part of the human experience, so it just makes sense for all of us to learn and work together. Northwest Center champions education and workplace inclusion across Puget Sound through these services:
• Smooth Way Home: support from our Early Intervention team for families with prematurely born babies making the transition to home
• Early Intervention: therapy for children from birth to age 3 who have developmental disabilities or delays. Services take place in a home setting, at school, in a park—anywhere the family is comfortable; not at a clinic.
• Early Learning: inclusive classrooms where children with and without disabilities learn and play together
• School-to-Work: support for students with developmental and other disabilities as they graduate from high school, including skill and interest assessments, locating potential employers, job training and as much on-the-job, ongoing support as necessary
• Employment Services: we place adults of all abilities in jobs at inclusive workplaces at 100+ companies across Puget Sound and provide as much on-the-job, ongoing support as necessary.
