Ohio's biggest celebration of urban entertainment is back for 2012, with music executives & media from all over the country meeting up in Columbus, OH for the 7th annual Ohio Hip Hop Awards & Music Conference. This three day extravaganza features networking events, a music conference, performance showcases, and a black tie, red carpet award show honoring the elite of Ohio's entertainment industry. On the evening of Friday 9/21 the "Welcome to Columbus" party @ Lounge 62 will feature a music business networking session & hand picked performances from the OHHA 2012 Summer Showcase Tour competition. On Saturday 9/22 the OHHA Music, Film, & Technology Conference will be held @ the host hotel, Embassy Suites - Airport from noon - 5pm. Executives from Def Jam, Interscope, Atlantic, Epic, Warner Brothers, AllHipHop.com, Reverbnation, Radio One, & more will be in attendance to scout talent, answer questions, provide feedback, and judge showcases. Iconic entertainment executive Steve Lobel, who has been instrumental in the careers of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Sean Kingston, Nipsey Hussle, and others, will be conducting 1 on 1 A&R sessions with artists who wish to get expert career advice & politic for a record deal. The music executives will also judge an industry showcase with a prize package that includes a live interview & song played on Shade 45 satellite radio, 1/2 page ad in Ozone magazine, free mixtape placement on Livemixtapes.com, and a slot on the Nerve DJ's national conference call. A new feature of the conference for 2012 will include an exhibit for film makers, video directors, TV producers, and App developers to showcase their skills.
Top talent from across the great buckeye state will be performing Sunday 9/23 at the 2012 main event, to be held @ the Aladdin Shrine Center. Cleveland will spotlight Ray Jr. (Def Jam), Lolah Brown (national tour backup singer for John Legend, Keri Hilson, & Nicki Minaj), Bloodshot 216, Bedroc, & iPhonic f/KPT & Draft Pick. Also performing will be Rikk Reighn & Q-Nemesis (Columbus), Jay Mel & Terisa Rue (Youngstown), Frank Benji (Akron), Paper Flave (Toledo), Ill Poetic (Dayton/Cincinnati), and a few surprise guests.
