Draper, UT (Vocus) August 9, 2010 -- DegreeSearch.org, an online education search business, added a new Web designer to its rapidly growing team. Mike Metcalf worked with Lead Media Partners before, and gained almost three years of experience in the education industry, which he will now bring to the DegreeSearch.org website projects.
“I’m excited about the continued growth of our company, and I am confident that Mike will contribute a lot to our business,” said Chandler Horsley, president of DegreeSearch.org. “We’ve worked with him before and he is a talented designer and has already proven himself to be a valuable asset to our team.”
Metcalf will design education websites and build online education tools for students. Working on the main site, he will help improve its usability by adding tools for students to compare online degrees and schools, calculate loans, find scholarships, map out their career path and succeed in their educational pursuits.
"Mike's design skills alone would get him the job. The fact that he works hard, asks the right questions, and adds his unique innovative touch to every project—that’s all a big bonus for us," said Joseph LeBaron, creative director at DegreeSearch.org.
Though layoffs are still common for many United States companies, DegreeSearch.org continues to add new, qualified employees like Metcalf to its team. Helping students search for online degree programs, the company has experienced a period of strong growth, despite, or perhaps because of, the economy.
“Colleges are seeing an increase in online enrollment by over 17 percent,” said Horsley. “More than 4.6 million students in the U.S. are enrolled online, and that number just keeps getting bigger. Because of this, our industry and business can grow to meet this increased demand and our experienced staff can help students find the right program, which is a win-win situation.”
DegreeSearch.org is dedicated to providing informative, easy-to-navigate information about online and campus degree programs to prospective students of all levels of post-secondary (post high school) educational experience. A division of Lead Media Partners, it works with top online and campus colleges, universities and other education providers across many different areas of study and degree programs ranging from certificate programs, to Bachelor's degree programs, to Master's degree programs and even PhD programs.
