Participants of the EIM Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) Test Prep Course Have 91% Pass Rate on SCS Exam
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Physical Therapists who completed the Evidence in Motion (EIM) Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) test preparation course had an above the national average, 91% pass rate, on the 2013 SCS Examination. The self-paced course uses a web-based, interactive, media-rich program that helps students prepare effectively for the exam.
The 91% EIM pass rate is more than 15 percentage points higher than the National Pass Rate for all specialty designation tests offered by the American Physical Therapy Association, which was 74% in 2013. The 17-week self-study program integrates journal articles, online video presentations, Mind-Maps, weekly summaries, and additional online resources and is typically started four-to-five months prior to the SCS exam.

Specific topics related to sports PT include sports science, acute injury and illness, injury prevention and return to sport, special populations, and environmental conditions. The online course is open to all licensed physical therapists that, upon completion, received 63 contact hours from the EIM Institute of Health Professions. Participants have the opportunity to bounce ideas and questions off one another in the “SCS-preppers” online forum and receive weekly summaries of the most “need to know” information.
The course, while unique for each student, features a pre-test, post-test and weekly online quizzes in a format similar to the SCS exam. This simulates the exam environment, identifies knowledge gaps and assesses learning.
