Pathways Hospice, a palliative care and hospice agency in the San Francisco Bay Area, is celebrating the success of Bridge to Caring 2013, a fundraising event held on March 12, 2013. Over $55,000 was raised to support Pathways Hospice at this annual event that included an afternoon of bridge, a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception, and an exclusive dinner followed by a talk by author, Laney Salisbury.

Proceeds from the 2013 Bridge to Caring benefitted the Dream Team, Pathways’ 24/7 on-call nursing team. When Pathways Hospice patients and families need help at night, on weekends, or on holidays that help is just a phone call away. If a visit seems necessary, a nurse is dispatched directly to the home to assess the situation, address medical issues, and assure the patient's comfort and safety, as well as reassuring and assisting the family members The Dream Team ensures a quick response to patient’s symptoms and often helps the patient avoid emergency room visits and hospitalization.
