PCAB to Hold Compounding Pharmacy Accreditation Workshop in Cary, NC
Cary, NC (PRWEB) January 05, 2015 -- Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB), a service of ACHC, has announced that it will hold a PCAB compounding pharmacy accreditation workshop at its headquarters in Cary, NC on February 10 and 11, 2015. The workshop will educate pharmacy personnel on the requirements needed to achieve and maintain compliance with PCAB Accreditation Standards for non-sterile and sterile compounding. The workshop will be instructed by leading industry experts, including ACHC Associate Director of Pharmacy, Jon Pritchett, Pharm.D., RPh, and former PCAB Executive Director, Joe Cabaleiro, RPh.
As a nationally recognized accreditation organization, ACHC places great value on continuing education in regard to achieving and maintaining accreditation. As such, workshops are regularly held throughout the year to offer pharmacies the opportunity to familiarize themselves with PCAB compliance requirements. Each workshop provides in-depth training on each step of the accreditation process, specific strategies that can be utilized to prepare for the survey, and ongoing compliance with PCAB standards. ACHC has broad and extensive experience in the area of pharmacy compliance, including accreditation programs for non-sterile and sterile compounding, infusion, specialty, and long term care pharmacy services. Most recently, ACHC Inspection Services (AIS) was launched as a division of ACHC following approval from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy to conduct sterile compounding inspections on non-resident pharmacies. Beginning July, 2014, PCAB Accreditation became a service of ACHC, offering programs for non-sterile (ref. USP 795) and sterile (ref. USP 797) compounding services. PCAB Accreditation assesses the compounding process based on a specific set of standards that concentrate on the quality and consistency of medications compounded.
