Perkins Eastman Congratulates Alan M. Schlossberg on His Induction as President of AIA Pittsburgh
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 19, 2014 -- (December 19, 2014) The Board of Directors of top international architecture and design firm Perkins Eastman congratulates Principal and Executive Director Alan M. Schlossberg AIA, LEED AP on his induction as president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for 2015. Schlossberg served as Vice President in 2014 alongside outgoing president Jen Bee AIA.

Schlossberg joined Perkins Eastman in 1994, and he was a part of the leadership team that established the firm’s Pittsburgh office. As its Managing Principal, Alan has been instrumental in positioning the Pittsburgh office as a regional influence, with particular expertise in higher education, senior living, healthcare, housing, government, and commercial/mixed-use.

In addition to his role as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Schlossberg is one of the firm’s Higher Education Practice Area Leaders, with more than 28 years of experience in educational planning and design for colleges and universities, early childhood development, and research facilities. His local work of note includes multiple projects for the University of Pittsburgh, including The Upper Campus Housing, Bouquet Gardens, and the Falk Laboratory School Renovation and Expansion. Additional education clients include Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Community College of Allegheny County, University of Arkansas, Clarion University, Fairmont State University, William Paterson University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Slippery Rock University.
Schlossberg received a master of architecture degree and a bachelor of fine arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a licensed architect in the states of Arkansas and New York and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Society of College and University Planners, and he is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a LEED Accredited Professional. In addition to his professional associations, Schlossberg is active in local civic, community, and academic organizations, including the Regent Square Civic Association and St. Anthony School Programs and as a design juror for the School of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University.
