Leading analyst report focuses on integrated IT portfolio management to aid better CIO decision making

PowerSteering Software, the leading provider of business-driven project & portfolio management (PPM) solutions, today announced it was recognized as a Visionary in the 2011 Magic Quadrant for Integrated IT Portfolio Analysis Applications.

According to the report, “in an environment of tight money, IT portfolio managers need to move toward an IT capability focus and not an application, service or single-project focus.” Software providers included offer cross-portfolio level visibility to support holistic investment planning and prioritization without burdening users with detailed project management level metrics.

PowerSteering’s top-down, business driven portfolio management approach aligns with the inclusion criteria satisfying “major integrated IT portfolio analysis needs to serve up pertinent information needed by senior business and IT leaders – especially CIOs – for better decision making, while targeting ‘as users’ two or more of the following roles within IT: IT PPM leaders, application managers, application development (AD) managers and enterprise architects.”

“We’re very pleased with this recognition, which in combination with achieving the highest possible rating given of ‘Strong Positive’ in the PPM MarketScope, we believe solidifies PowerSteering’s position in the market,” commented Stephen Sharp PowerSteering's Chief Executive Officer. “The report supports our perspective that PPM, when applied strategically, is a driver for improved decision making.”
