Humanity can achieve a bright future by insisting on inclusive institutions, aiming a public-private capital multiplier at sustainable development, and empowering local communities.

Powering Prosperity: A Citizen’s Guide to Shaping the 21st Century, the critically acclaimed book by Dr. Indranil Ghosh, has been awarded a prestigious Axiom Business Book Award, earning a silver medal in the International Business and Globalization category.
The Axiom Business Book Awards are the largest and most respected critical guidepost for business books, and are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary business books and their creators. Previous medalists include Nobel laureate Robert Shiller, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Pulitzer Prize winner Doris Kearns Goodwin, philanthropist and investor Raymond Dalio to name just a few.
Since the Global Financial Crisis, we have been approaching a crossroads in modern human history. The top 1 percent of people own more than half of the world’s wealth, while hundreds of millions suffer in extreme poverty. Governments quarrel over the politics of environmental policy, even as climate change poses an existential threat to life on the planet. And communities “hollowed out” by the forces of globalization still struggle to stand on their feet.
In May 2020, at the height of the Covid crisis, Dr Ghosh published Powering Prosperity as a blueprint for humanity to overcome these challenges. The central message of the book could not have been more timely - that humanity can achieve a bright future by insisting on inclusive institutions, aiming a public-private capital multiplier at sustainable development, and empowering local communities.
In Powering Prosperity, Dr. Ghosh brings together his decades of experience as a sustainable investor, entrepreneur, policy advisor, and scientist, to provide a new framework for understanding the world’s challenges and the choices societies must make to address them.
